About Zombie Tweet

Zombie Tweet is a small browser game about surviving a very silly zombie outbreak for ten days. It is made by the Zombie Tweet Team, a few people who like text adventures, cheap horror movies and writing jokes that have to fit in a tight space.

Why 280 characters

Every scene, result and ending in the game fits in a single post. We started with that limit as a writing exercise and kept it because it made the game better. Short scenes read quickly on a phone. They force each joke to land in one go. And when a run ends, your result is already the right length to share.

The limit also shapes the guides on this site. One is about writing 280-character micro-fiction, which is exactly what the scene pool is made of.

What we care about

The game is free. There are no ads, no accounts, no in-app purchases and no tracking. It runs entirely in your browser, and the only thing it stores is your best score, on your own device.

We keep the horror cartoonish so that families can play together. Zombies in Zombie Tweet straighten soup cans, start book clubs and get stuck in revolving doors. Nobody bleeds.

The history of this domain

The zombietweet.com domain once hosted a small Twitter-based zombie game around 2009 to 2014. The site was relaunched in 2026 under new, independent management. We have no connection to earlier owners of the domain, and none of their content, accounts or code is used here. The old game addresses now point to the new game.

Zombie Tweet is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by X Corp. "X" and "Twitter" are trademarks of their owners and are mentioned only to describe the post format.
