A free browser game · about 7 minutes a run

You have a zombie horde approaching. What are you going to do?

Zombie Tweet is a short, silly survival game. You get ten days, a few planks, a little food and a neighborhood full of very slow, very confused zombies. Each day is one scene that fits in a single post. Pick what to do, live with it, and try to be standing when the rescue flights arrive.

A zombie mail carrier still walks his route. He stops at your door, groans and holds out a package with your name on it. You ordered it two weeks ago.

How a run works

  1. Read the scene

Every morning brings one situation: a stocked vending machine, a stranger on a car roof, a zombie book club. No scene runs longer than 280 characters.

  2. Make the call

Choose one of two or three options. Some cost planks or food. Risky ones can go well or badly, and good gear tilts the odds.

  3. Survive the night

Your crew eats, then the horde may test your barricade. Planks, friends, a dog and goalie gear all soak up damage.

  4. Share the ending

Ten endings wait at the finish, from a rooftop rescue to joining the horde. Your result comes out as a ready-made post.

Built for short attention spans and long nights

The game started from one rule: if a scene doesn't fit in a post, it gets cut. That makes every day quick to read on a phone, and it keeps the jokes tight. A full run takes five to ten minutes, so it works as a coffee-break game, a family game around one screen, or a warm-up before a zombie movie.

The zombies here are cartoon zombies. They straighten soup cans, ride escalators forever and stop at the water's edge looking puzzled. Nothing is gory. The worst injury in the game is "bumps and bruises," and losing just means you shuffle off to groan at a mailbox.

Questions

Is Zombie Tweet free?

Yes. The game runs in your browser, costs nothing, has no ads and needs no account. Open the game page and press start.

Is it scary?

Not very. The zombies are slow, clumsy and mostly confused. There is no gore, nothing graphic, and the worst thing that happens to you is a bruise. It works for kids, families and anyone who likes their horror on the silly side.

How long does one run take?

About five to ten minutes. A run lasts ten in-game days, and each day is one short scene, a choice and a night.

Why are the scenes so short?

Every scene, result and ending fits in 280 characters, the length of a standard post on X. That keeps the game quick, and it means your final result is ready to share as it is.

Do I need an X account to play?

No. You only need one if you want to post your result, and even then the game simply opens a prefilled post that you can edit or cancel. Zombie Tweet is not affiliated with X Corp.

Does the game save my progress?

It saves your best score in your own browser's local storage. Nothing is sent to us or to anyone else, and clearing your browser data removes it.
